Denham and The Victoria & Albert Museum

In 2023 as part of their 15th Anniversary celebrations Denham, the premium denim brand, released a collection of garments in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum in London.

One of the world’s leading institutions of art, design and performance, the V&A partnered with Denham to produce an ”East meets West” inspired collection. Using the museum’s extensive archives, the collection was enriched with patterns and prints by the French photographer Gustave Le Gray

Researched in the V&A and designed with a modern workwear perspective, the range encompasses a vibrant mix of colourful patterns sourced from an album of Japanese textiles and a seascape by Gustave Le Gray, an early pioneer of photography as an art form

The 2023 Denham V&A Denim Jacket and Jeans have Japanese twill inspired collar, pocket flap and knee rip patches.

The 2023 collection’s hero piece was an oversized rigid-yet-lightweight jean jacket with custom-printed twill on the collar, wrist and pocket flap. The same twill pattern is repeated on the fifth pocket of loose fit jeans, available cropped and full length.

Also included in the collection were T-shirts with floral patterns coming from Japanese Kimono samples with the words ”Textile“ and

”Research” in print.

This collection celebrates Japan’s rich artistic heritage through contemporary denim and lifestyle designs.
